A Garden Without Garden
video installation 2020
The video installation “A Garden without a garden” examines the notion of ephemeral connected with the process of creation. The video shows a slow and constantly changeable movement of a cloud in a blue sky combined with short phrases. Inspired by Anselm Boley’s text “how to make a garden", the artist selected fragments of his text which describe the process of creating a garden, leaving out the words which connect to the garden. By de-contextualizing the phrases the artist creates an open field of new interpretations as well as associations with personal experience.
